Ruth Stanfield Hicks

Mrs. Ruth Stanfield Hicks, age 88, of McEwen, TN, passed away Monday, July 8, 2013, at NHC Healthcare Center in Dickson, TN. Mrs. Hicks was born May 6, 1925, in McEwen, TN, to William Edgar and Martha Frances Patterson Stanfield. She was a lifelong resident of McEwen. She was married to Rev. David Franklin Hicks. Mrs. Hicks was a member of First Baptist Church of McEwen. She and her husband were retired Co-owners of David F. Hicks Construction Company in McEwen, TN, and Meldo's Restaurant in Waverly, TN. Visitation with the family will be at First Freewill Baptist Church of McEwen, 40 Locust Street, McEwen, TN, on Friday, July 12, 2013, from 5-9 p.m. Visitation on Saturday, July 13, 2013, will be from 9:30 a.m. until funeral service time at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Tommy Steet, Rev. Willie McLaurin, and Mrs. Judy Johnson will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Johnson Cemetery in McEwen, TN. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Nashville Rescue Mission.
