Virginia Summers

Mrs. Daphne Virginia "Peggy" Johnston Summers, age 94, of Temperance, MI, and formerly of New Port Richey, FL, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Hickory Ridge of Temperance. Mrs. Summers was born on August 31, 1918, in Cooter, Missouri, to Clarence E. and Clara J. Ayers Johnston. She married William Russell Summers on June 27, 1940. He preceded her in death on March 5, 1988. Peggy loved playing the piano, singing, teaching Sunday School, but most of all spending time with her loving family. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013 and Sunday, May 26, 2013 from 10 a.m. until funeral service time at 1 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. Bro. Blake Carroll will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Wade Knight Cemetery in Waverly, TN. Active pallbearers will be David Anthony, Donald Anthony, Billy Summers, Jim Beauregard, Marty Shea, Billy Snyder, and Rich Snyder. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Hickory Ridge of Temperance for the loving care given to Peggy during her stay.
