Mr. James Nolan "Jimmy" Fowlkes, age 84 of Waverly, TN, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013, in Waverly. Mr. Fowlkes was born June 10, 1928 to Mame Waggoner and James Nolan Fowlkes, Sr. He was a U. S. Army Korean War veteran and a member of Waverly United Methodist Church. Mr. Fowlkes was a retired heavy equipment operator for Tennessee Valley Authority. He was a charter member of Waverly Elks Lodge #2289, a member of the Waverly Masonic Lodge F&AM #304, and he loved fishing. Visitation with the family will be 3:30-8 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 and Sunday, February 10, 2013, from 11 a.m. until funeral service time at 1:30 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. Pastor Phil Ross will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Richlawn Cemetery in Waverly, TN. Active pallbearers will be Marty Allison, Bobby Allison, Greg Gunn, Scoby Fowlkes, Billy Nolan Fowlkes, Joe Fowlkes, Jr. and Daniel Collier.
