Ernest Olestus May, Jr.

Mr. Ernest Olestus May, Jr., age 80, of New Johnsonville, TN, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012, at his home. Mr. Ernie May, Jr. was born November 20, 1931 to Ernest Olestus, Sr. and Claranell Brister May, in McEwen, TN. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Corporal May was stationed at Marley Forrest Barracks, Paris, France, as an honor guard for General Dwight D. Eisenhower, 520 M. P. Service Co. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army on June 25, 1952. He was a McEwen Masonic Lodge #525 Master Mason. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Waverly, TN. Mr. May was an avid hunter and fisherman. Visitation with the family will be Monday, July 16, 2012 from 2-8 P.M. and Tuesday, July 17, 2012, from 9 A.M. until funeral service time at 11 A.M., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen, TN. Rev. Fred Jones will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the McEwen Cemetery.
