Harlon Frank Doyle

Mr. Harlon "Pepsi" Frank Doyle, age 73, of Pensacola, FL, died Monday, April 2, 2012 in Madison, AL. He was born on February 4, 1939 in Lobelville, TN. He graduated from Lobelville High School in April, 1957 and from Olympic Junior College, Bremerton, WA, in December, 1974. Mr. Doyle joined the United States Navy on May 6, 1957 in Nashville, TN. He served as an enlisted senior chief petty officer and as a commissioned warrant officer, CWO4. His military occupation specialty was military personnel specialist. He served in a variety of USN ships including one destroyer, two cruisers, and one aircraft carrier. His sea duty was performed in the Pacific Fleet and Mediterranean Sea. He also served in a variety of USN shore stations within the United States, as well as Hawaii, Alaska, Taiwan, and Italy. Decorations awarded include the Good Conduct Medal w/4 Bronze Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and the Joint Service Accommodation Medal w/2 Bronze Stars. He retired from the United States Navy on August 1, 1981 at Naval Air Station, Memphis, TN, after serving 24 years, 2 months, and 25 days. His civilian career following his military service was as a computer systems analyst. Local visitation with the family will be from 5-9 P. M. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, and Thursday, April 5, 2012 from 12 P. M. until funeral service time at 2 P. M., at the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel in Lobelville, TN. Bro. Hoyt Kirk will be officiating. Visitation in Florida will be Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 12 P.M. until funeral service time at 2 P. M., at the Pensacola Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 7433 Pine Forest Road, Pensacola, FL. Interment will follow at the Pensacola Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
