Major Mike Winter

Gary Michael Winter, USMC Retired, "Major Mike", age 63 of Waverly, TN, died Monday, December 12, 2011 at his home. Major Mike was born in Fresno, CA, on September 30, 1948. He was a Vietnam veteran, having 20 years of dedicated United States Marine Corps service, retiring as a Major. He and his loving wife of 41 years, Jane, moved from Dickson, TN to Waverly, TN in 2002. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, December 15, 2011, from 4-7 p.m. Friday visitation will be from 12 p.m. until memorial service time at 1 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. Full military honors for "Major Mike" by the United States Marine Corps will follow the service at the funeral home.
