Mr.Robert C. Reid,age 72 died May 27, 2010 at the Baptist Hospital in Nashville,TN.Mr. Reid was a veteran in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. Mr.Reid was a graduate of Tenn. State University in Nashville,TN.Mr. Reid was Chairman of the Humphreys County Board of County Commissioners,served on the Board for 32 years,served as Chairman Pro Tem most of the term to the late Jaycee Rawlings,short term Humphreys County Executive,member of the Fiscal Review and Budget Committee for Humphreys County,Waverly Lions Club,Retired Teachers Association,Waverly Housing Authority Board member,Humphreys County Nursing Home Board Member,Steward and Finance Committee Chairman for Salter's Chapel A.M.E. Church in Waverly,teacher and Principal for Humphreys C. Board of Education for 38 years.Visitation for Mr.Reid will be Saturday May 29, 2010 from 4 P.M. until 7 P.M. and Sunday from 1 P.M. until funeral time at 2 P.M.Funeral Services will be held at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly with Rev. Charles Townsend, Sr. officiating.Burial will be in the Richlawn Cemetery in Waverly.Survivors include; Son:Brantley Curtis Reid Waverly,TN Daughter:Brigitte Reid Gaines Columbia,TN 4 Grandchildren:Curtis Reid,D.J.
