Tony Lee Cooley

Mr. Tony Lee Cooley, age 58, of Waverly, TN died at his home on May 17, 2009, from complications of a Stem Cell Transplant. Mr. Cooley was born on October 8, 1950 in Waverly, TN to the late James Edmond and Dorothy Elizabeth Wright Cooley. He graduated from Waverly Central High School and John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science in Nashville, TN. He was a retired Senior Field Operator for E. I. DuPont in New Johnsonville, TN and was a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. Tony was a member of the National Funeral Directors Association and a former member of the Waverly Exchange Club. He loved his family and friends. He was an avid hunter and UT Vols fan. Survivors include his wife; Doris Ann Wilson Cooley, Waverly, TN, 2 daughters; Kimberly Zills (Jason), Waverly, TN, and Eranne Ferrell (Jesse), McEwen, TN, brother; Ricky Cooley (Charlie), Waverly, TN, 2 granddaughters; Lindsay Jae Zills, Waverly, TN, Emma-Leigh Grace Ferrell, McEwen, TN, nephew; James Cooley (Bailey), Nashville, TN. Visitation with the family will be Monday, May 18, 2009 from 4-9PM and Tuesday, May 19, 2009 from 9AM until celebration service time at 2PM at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. Speakers for the service will be Mr. Ernest Green, Mrs. Kimberly Cooley Zills, and Ms. Elizabeth Winkler. Interment will follow in the Crockett-Meadow Cemetery in Hurricane Mills, TN.
