Lizzie Inez May

Miss Lizzie "Inez" May, age 96 of McEwen, TN, died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the Humphreys County Nursing Home in Waverly, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents; John and Lucy Sanders May. She is survived by several loving cousins and a host of friends. Miss Inez May was born on November 22, 1912 in Humphreys County, TN and was a lifelong resident. She lived most of her life near Hurricane Mills, TN, near the Duck River. She worked with her mother and father on their farm on Duck River, raising farm animals, corn and other vegetables. She was baptized into her Lord on August 2, 1935 at the Hurricane Mills Church of Christ. Inez moved with her parents after they retired from farming, to McEwen, TN, where they lived many years. She still considered McEwen her home. Inez was a ROSE to everyone who knew her, and she loved her friends and neighbors. She enjoyed traveling and seeing all God's wonderful views. She was never able to hear God's wonderful sounds, nor even talk about them, but she enjoyed seeing them. Visitation with the family will be Monday, May 18, 2009 from 3-8 PM and Tuesday, May 19, 2009 from 10 AM until funeral service time at 11 AM, at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. Bro. Jeff Keele will be officiating with interment to follow in the McEwen Cemetery in McEwen, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jeff Fischer Foundation for the Hard of Hearing.
