Mr Jesse Ray McNeil

Mr. Jesse Ray McNeil, age 73, of New Johnsonville, TN, died Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at Three Rivers Hospital in Waverly, TN. Preceded in death by parents; Milton D. and Irene Owens McNeil, brother, Vonelle McNeil. Survived by wife; Patricia Cunningham McNeil, New Johnsonville, TN, daughter; Melinda Beth Williams (Jimmy), Bellevue, special grandson, Hunter McNeil Williams, Bellevue, aunt; Pauline McNeil, Hurricane Mills, TN and a host of cousins. Mr. McNeil was a Principal and educator at Lakeview School in New Johnsonville, TN for 33 years. He graduated from Waverly Central High School and Austin Peay State University. He was a U. S. Army Korean Conflict veteran. He began teaching the seventh grade at Lakeview School in 1959. He also drove the school bus everyday and helped coach the girls' and boys' basketball teams. He retired as Principal from Lakeview School in 1992. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in the Hustburg Community, served as the Chairman of the Administrative Board of the church and taught Sunday School class. He also served on the New Johnsonville Planning Commission, a member of the Humphreys County 911 Board, a member of the Humphreys Co. Retired Teachers Assoc., Tennessee Educators Assoc., and on the Humphreys Co. School Board from 1996 to 2006. His daughter, Melinda Williams, is Principal of Dodson Elementary School in Nashville, TN. Visitation Friday, December 15, 2006 from 3-9PM at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. Saturday visitation will be from 10AM until 12PM at the funeral home and from 1-2PM at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in New Johnsonville, TN. Funeral services to follow at 2PM with Pastor Donna Parramore officiating. Interment will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery in New Johnsonville, TN. Honorary pallbearers will be former and current teachers, employees and students of Lakeview School. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to: J. R.
